Parts & Service Quoting - Features

Templates are one of PSQ’s most critical time-saving features, allowing you to create intricate Quotes with the click of a button!

Each template is designed for a specific make and model of machine, and may contain any number of Work Order Segments. Once you’ve configured a template, click the “Create Quote” button to instantly generate a Quote containing those Segments

Quotes created from templates can always be modified after the fact. For example, if you create a Quote from a rebuild template that contains all possible Segments for a machine, you can selectively delete certain Segments to tailor that Quote to your customer’s needs.

If you find that your employees are creating the same Quotes over and over again, consider turning them into templates! You won’t regret it – the time savings will be astronomical!

Whenever a Quote containing Work Order Segments is marked as Won in PSQ, you’ll get the option to create an associated Ticket in ServiceLink. This will instantly generate a Ticket containing all the information you’ve already captured, saving you the effort of entering it again!

The images to the right illustrate the complete process of marking a Quote as Won, viewing the associated Ticket in ServiceLink, then creating a Work Order!

Quotes usually come before Work Orders, but sometimes you will open a Work Order to inspect or perform preliminary repairs on a machine before the full scope of the work is known

PSQ’s Link New Quote to WO feature is designed with these situations in mind! This feature allows you to search and select an existing Work Order, then create a Quote based on that Work Order. You can then modify the Quote as needed and pass the finalized Quote back to the customer for approval.

It’s common for the scope of work needed on a machine to change as work progresses. For example, your technicians might discover that a backhoe loader brought in for hydraulic cylinder seal replacement also needs new pins and bushings

PSQ offers two powerful features for handling these situations: Quote revisions and the ability to update ServiceLink Tickets from Quotes.

  • Quote Revisions: When editing a Quote, select “Copy to New Revision” to create a new revision. Use this feature to create alternative versions of the same Quote while preserving the original. Once your Quote is ready to be won, you can select which revision was the winning one.
  • Ticket Updates: If your Quote has already been pushed to ServiceLink, you can use the “Update Ticket” feature to instantly update the associated Ticket with the changes from your revision!
